While I was reading the ABCE model-if we call it a model- I was thinking of why do teachers have to formulate an objective in any given way? The answer that came to my mind was that: To assess the objective. Moments later, it came to my mind that it is not assessment that matters, rather, the achievement of the objective. Then, I came to a conclusion, which is we specify the objective to clear it, teach it, verify it and assess it. The ABCD model is a very good model to clear, verify and find ways to asses the objectives.
Hello Haggag,
ReplyDeleteI guess you could be right when you say that not assessment which matters but rather to achieve our objective should be our concern. However, I don't see how one can teach a group of students without having to assess their input.
Assessing should be part of meeting our objective . Why? Well, because it is a way to assess not only the students work but to what extent a teacher her/himself has reached their objective.
It should be seen as an evaluation or measurment of our teaching perfomance.
Yet I agree with you about how good is the ABCD model. More than that this model makes it easy to follow our steps during any given class teaching.
Good luck to you and to all of us on this e-journey.

Thank you very much for your really valuable input.
